Ursa Major Men Fantastic Face Wash

It really is that Fantastic!!

In this post I would like to introduce you to Vermont based Ursa Major, and one of their products - the Fantastic Face Wash. Over the course of the next few days I will also be reviewing their other products, which consist of a Toner, Shave Cream and Face Balm.

The bottle design, simple, striking and to the point
This face wash is a concentrated gel formula that doesn't dry out your skin, or leave it feeling greasy or oily.
Because it is concentrated, you only a little to go a long way (about the size of a penny in the palm of your hand), which also means the bottle will last a good 4-6 months, so it is excellent value for money.

The ingredients are fantastic, as well as being 99.5% natural and 51% organic.
And the scent - my goodness!! I have never smelt a face wash (or anything of that matter) that smells as nice as this - a really rich, woody-minty-herbally smell that fills the bathroom when you lather it up on your face, for some reason reminds me a little bit like Christmas :)

Directions and Ingredients

After cleansing my face with this wash, it never feels dry or tight, like most other gel washes do. I think this is because this is a natural product that contains no chemical nasties that can dry out your skin such as Sodium Lauryl/Laureth Sulphate). Also, my face is never left feeling red or irritated after using this wash, this is due to the natural oils in the product having a calming and almost therapeutic affect on the skin. Moisturisers/balms still sink in like a dream, and I feel that this product is perfectly fine to use twice a day (morning and night).

The product lathered on my face - note the low but right amount of lather

Ursa Major are a fantastic brand, and not well known in the UK. I have spoken to friends, family and colleagues and all seem to be unfamiliar with them, but having spoken to them about the brand, showed them the products and given them some to try, they have all said that this will certainly be a brand that they will look into purchasing from in the future.

This is an amazing face wash, and has been my go-to wash for the past year almost, and I cannot recommend it enough. This is one that you HAVE to try. 5/5

Hairbond Moulder

My first review for this blog is going to be for the Hairbond Moulder styling product.

First of all, I am going to give you a little insight into the company:

Hairbond was founded by hairdressing expert Scott Michaels in 2008, and since then has produced some of the "best in class" hair styling and hair care products.

To quote the Hairbond website:

After nearly 15 years of retailing professional products I personally became dissatisfied with imported, boring and gimmicky brands with sub standard product ranges”. “Since Hairbond has launched we are now exporting around the world. We are also continuing to generate a cult following, as well as a huge list of celebrity fans. Our brand is not about gimmicks but giving people a quality British made alternative to their hairstyling routine"
Not a truer word said in my opinion.

Now moving onto the product:

The lid and striking logo

So this is the Hairbond Moulder, the flagship product in the Hairbond range, which includes a mix of clays and styling creams, as well as a shampoo and conditioner, and the soon to be released Toffee Scented Hair Shaper.

The Moulder product in the jar

The product itself is a mixture between a clay and a fiber-like paste (like the American Crew Fiber), and has an AMAZING smell of apples, and I think a hint of pineapple.

You only need a small amount to work through your hair, about the size of a 1p-5p piece, rub it all between your hands, then work through your hair into the desired shape and style.

The product is not in any way greasy or shiny, which is part of the uniqueness of the Moulder, as it gives you the look, feel and hold of a clay or wax, without leaving your hair looking like it's been washed with olive oil(!).

The side of the jar - it looks glass but it is plastic and looks great on the bathroom counter

This is such a great product and I can see how it quickly became their flagship product, in actual fact the product was sold out for quite a while after it's launch, due to the high demands.

If you have short to medium length hair, and like to give it a bit of style (spikes, messyness etc), then I cannot recommend this product enough. 5/5
